Frequently Asked Questions About Tattoos
What to do for tattoo preparation?
Start to hydrate minimum 48 hours before your tattoo appointment.
If you have hair or hairy it’s PERFECTLY FINE AND NORMAL, I do/will have to shave you if you cannot reach or forget.
Night before appointment, if you can not required ( for certain spots) shave the area within 6 hours of the appointment, if you plan on waxing the area you plan on getting tattooed do it 72 hours before appointment day. Night before appointment take a good shower to help relax, and make sure you get plenty of sleep.
It is imperative that you eat a good meal before your appointment.
If you plan on using numbing cream, I HAVE to know what brand! There are fake numbing creams out there, and using them can risk in examples, infections, tattoo ink not going into the skin, tattoo ink falling out, scarring and chemical burns.
If you would like to use a numbing please use examples, Painless or Mad Rabbit numbing. These two are the ones I personally use and suggest.
Make sure if you use a numbing cream it goes on 1 hour and 30 minutes BEFORE your appointment time.
Numbing cream instructions
Use warm/hot water and clean the area with an antibacterial non-scented soap, exfoliate, shave area, pat dry, make sure that the area is dry. Use your hand or use gloves and put the numbing cream in that area, go bigger than the tattoo just in case you plan on going bigger. If you are using your hands, MAKE SURE YOU CLEAN YOUR HANDS REALLY GOOD AFTED PUTTING ON NUMBING CREAM. Wrap the area in plastic wrap, make sure that it is on tight but not tight enough to cause pain or bruising. Using numbing cream the skin pores have to be open and that will happen during the shower. The pores will soak up the numbing cream and start to work. The area may turn red and that’s okay it can happen.

Keep the original bandage on for 3-5 days. After the the 3-5 days, you can remove the bandage either in the shower or under the sink. Let warm/cool water run on the

When taking the bandage off do NOT rip it off, peel in the direction the of hair growth, slightly pull on the end(s) of the bandage until you see that it is lifting. Using an antibacterial soap, clean the tattoo, if there is still a sticky residue you can use witch hazel to scrub around the tattoo, not on.
